21 Weeks

Happy Holidays! Hope everyone had a nice Christmas and is looking forward to the new year, I know we are...

Last Tuesday we had the 20 week ultrasound, so here is a picture of Baby Ferrara, raising an itty bitty hand to say Hi. We also saw a tiny finger come out of the fist and tap on the head, which of course means he or she will be smart.




The bump at 21 weeks. I've been told by many that it's going to be a boy, based on how I'm carrying (but really who knows??) We decided to keep it a surprise :)

I think I finally look pregnant, which occurred to me when a stranger/angel gave me her seat on the subway - probably the first and last time that will happen!

Daddy is also proud of his sympathy bump. Never one to be outdone, he has gained 18 lbs so far to my 15. Now that's support!

18 Weeks

We are busy getting the nursery ready! First things first, here is The Bump at 18 weeks - finally starting to wear maternity pants, including these snazzy jeans from Target.













Pictured here are the new roman shades we installed (cordless and light-blocking of course!) along with the rug we ordered that just came in (note whale in corner).










And here is Daddy wiped out after installing shades, putting up the tree, painting radiator covers, etc.

16 Weeks

Here we are at 16 weeks! Really I feel a lot bigger than this. And certainly after Thanksgiving this week, I'm expecting to 'show' even more :)

Also shown is the dresser I painted (actually Mike's old changing table), a changing pad that I won in a raffle at an Expectant Moms dinner that Cheryl and I went to last week, and adorable dinosaur slippers and binky sent by my dear friend Sarah - thanks Mooner!

Yesterday we went to Babies R Us for the first time. A bit overwhelming but fun nevertheless. Then went to Target for some maternity clothes-not quite as fun. We also ordered blinds for the nursery windows and a fun colorful polka dot rug. Yay!

Bump Photos

One of the reasons I created this blog was to keep family and friends updated on Baby Ferrara's development and journey into our world. And so that includes monthly pictures of the bump:


Here we are at 8 weeks. Not that much to see yet...












And here we are at 12 weeks...getting there!

And so we begin...

Well, not really. I'm already 15 weeks along, but it's just now sinking in because we can finally tell people! That has been the best part so far - sharing the happy news that I've had to keep secret for months...

I still can't tell if I'm 'showing' yet or not. I feel like I just need to get back to the gym after the holidays. Everyone's first question has been 'how are you feeling?' which is kinda nice. Actually I've been very lucky (knock on wood!) and had a relatively easy 1st trimester - very little nausea and mostly just exhaustion. I've been having cravings and of course am hungry all the time.

Everyone's second question of course is whether or not we'll find out the gender. Still undecided on that. Since we had a CVS test done, we have the answer sitting at home in an envelope. At this point it still feels too early to know anyway...and once we open it we can't go back, so we are not rushing it. Is it possible for us to find out and keep it a secret?? Knowing me, probably not :)
